Job Description Template: Social Media Recruiter

Somebody sent me an email asking me for more detail on what (exactly) a Social Media Recruiter would do once hired. I thought it was a fair question since the role is fairly new in HR circles. This is what I sent them. Feel free to use it when writing up your job descriptions as I believe we will see more and more of these positions popping up in the very-near future. Enjoy….

SOCIAL MEDIA RECRUITER

Company X is a leader in blah, blah, blah…

Responsibilities:

• Drive a high-level of traffic to micro websites optimized for key roles, track submittals and resulting hires. (This is your key function.)
• Serves as the primary point of contact and evangelizes, promotes and drives social media programs to maintain external enthusiasm around Company X.
• Measures and communicates the impact of web community/social media strategies and tactics using agreed upon tracking metrics.
• Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors in order to capitalize on recruiting opportunities and minimize the effects of competitive activity.
• Monitors and moderates community participation on blogs and forums sponsored by Company X and ensures prompt responses when needed.
• Contributes towards promotion activities specifically linked to Company X’s web presence, such as contests, tours, and seminars.
• Represents Company X at various conferences to evangelize Company X to passive prospects and active jobseekers
• Serve as an expert in any and all online content - forums, blogs, discussion sites – to help reach targeted passive prospects.
• Lead internal effort to recruit, train and oversee existing employee involvement in Social Media for the purpose of integrating said effort into the existing Employee Referral Program.
• Prepares reports, including charts and graphs, and presents recommendations for workforce action plans to management.

Requirements:

• 5 years of online research, community management and/or marketing experience, with minimum 3 years experience in social media
• Experience working remotely with a dynamic, global team.
• Exceptional planning skills
• Self-motivated
• Ability to set realistic, measurable goals
• Ability to adjust goals according to weekly data analysis
• Experience operating in a startup environment.
